This issue features M. Louise Baker's scientific illustrations, Hermann Schwarzmann's architectural drawings for the Centennial Exposition of 1876, and the Lutheran Archives Center's work to raise the match for treatment of Henry Mühlenberg's journals.

CCAHA staff are currently treating a collection of the performer and activist's letters, books, Broadway posters, and concert programs from the Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection of Temple University Libraries.

The Bruce Springsteen album released on November 16 includes an 80-page spiral notebook containing facsimiles of Springsteen's written lyrics and photographs.  Many of the pages come from scans taken while Springsteen's original lyric notebooks were at CCAHA last year.

The Civil War Museum of Philadelphia's Meade Album holds almost 1,400 carte-de-visite portraits of all the officers who served in the Union Army of the Potomac.

Among its many collections, the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Design Archives at Parsons The New School for Design holds examples of past student work.  Digitizing the archives' materials makes the work more readily available and serves as a preservation measure.

IMLS has released Connecting to Collections: A Report to the Nation, showing that the program has provided thousands of museum and library professionals with resources and technical assistance to care for endangered collections.

Lee Price, CCAHA's Director of Development, recently launched a blog to follow CCAHA's ongoing efforts to preserve his family's collection of photos, artwork, and memorabilia.

CCAHA's book section has been working on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original manuscript for The Adventure of the Empty House, a Sherlock Holmes story, which recently arrived from the Rosenbach Museum & Library.
