CCAHA's Philadelphia Stewardship Program seeks regional applicants for grant-funded collections care initiative

CCAHA is now accepting applications for its Philadelphia Stewardship Program.  This program is comprised of four grant-funded tracks that are designed to aid nonprofit institutions in caring for their collections.

For the past 115 years, the Swiftwater Preserve fly-fishing club has been fishing the same stretch of stream in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  A hand-drawn map of the area just received treatment at CCAHA.

A Mellon Foundation grant to LYRASIS will fund the second round of the HBCU photograph preservation project, a joint effort by CCAHA, LYRASIS, the HBCU Library Alliance, the University of Delaware Art Conservation Department, and the Image Permanence Institute.

CCAHA's book section recently treated Abraham Ortelius's Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, considered the first geographical atlas and the most comprehensive summary of 16th-century cartography. The volume is from Boston Public Library's Norman B. Leventhal Map Center.
