Conservation Center - for Art and Historic Artifacts

CCAHA specializes in the treatment of art and historic artifacts on paper and provides preservation education, training, and consultation. Established in 1977, CCAHA is the largest nonprofit regional conservation lab in the country.

Valeria Kremser

Book Conservation Technician

Valeria Kremser received her B.F.A. from Loyola University New Orleans and her M.F.A. from the Book Arts/Printmaking Program at The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA.   

Ms. Kremser currently works as a technician in the book section, where she started after returning from her internship at the Gladys Brooks Book and Paper Conservation Lab at The New York Academy of Medicine. Previously she had been part of the Collections Care Department at CCAHA, where she worked on large-scale projects from archives and libraries.

Outside of work, Ms. Kremser is an active artist and Vice President of PositiveSpace, a local arts group, and the Philadelphia Center for the Book.  Before joining the staff at CCAHA in 2006, she worked as the Conservation Assistant at The Wagner Free Institute of Science and interned in the conservation lab at the American Philosophical Society.
