Conservators Staff: Stephanie Lussier
Paper Conservator
Stephanie M. Lussier, Paper Conservator, joined the staff at the Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts in January 2007. Ms. Lussier holds an M.A. with a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Art Conservation with a specialization in paper conservation awarded by Buffalo State College, and a B.F.A. in art history and printmaking awarded by Massachusetts College of Art.
With twelve years of conservation experience in diverse settings including fine art museums, library special collections, regional labs and private practice, Ms. Lussier brings familiarity and expertise with a wide range of paper-based artifacts to the Center. She has completed advanced fellowships at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and CCAHA, and fulfilled her graduate internship at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. She has instructed on paper conservation techniques at the graduate-level and has lectured and published nationally and internationally on a variety of topics including: The History and Technique of Linoleum Block Printing, The Conservation Treatment of Discolored Lead White on Paper Artifacts, and Rigid Support Options for the Mounting and Display of Large Format Works on Paper.
Ms. Lussier is a Professional Associate of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works and serves as an active member on AIC’s Education and Training Committee, and the Book and Paper Group Publications Committee. Prior to entering conservation she worked in New York City as a papermaker, letterpress printer and bookbinder.
