CCAHA specializes in the treatment of art and historic artifacts on paper and provides preservation education, training, and consultation. Established in 1977, CCAHA is the largest nonprofit regional conservation lab in the country.

Manager of Housing and Framing Services

Jessica Makin, Manager of Housing and Framing, received a BA in Art, summa cum laude, from Rowan University

Ms. Makin works with clients and conservators to develop the most effective preservation housing and framing for objects that have been through the conservation process, as well as providing museum-quality “housing-and-framing-only” for client art and objects. She is responsible for the matting, mounting and framing of original works of art and historic artifacts for storage and exhibition, including the design and construction of sealed microclimate packages and custom finished picture frames.

Ms. Makin has earned the Certified Picture Framer (CPF) designation, a rigorous professional certification from the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA). Before coming to CCAHA, Ms. Makin had over ten years of experience as manager of a retail picture framing gallery specializing in preservation framing.
