Audiovisual materials—including motion picture film, magnetic tape media such as audio and video reels and cassettes, and compact discs—have unique preservation needs and are quickly becoming obsolete. Participants in this workshop learn about methods for proper assessment, care, and handling of audiovisual collections. Hands-on sessions demonstrate cleaning and housing basics and address issues such as reformatting and maintaining playback equipment.
