CCAHA often undertakes special projects that may involve a range of services and cover a wide territory, occasionally even national in scope. Through work on these complex projects, CCAHA staff have developed strong management and leadership skills. Planning projects may call for facilitation skills that lead diverse collaborators toward a common vision; education projects may require tactical thinking and precise organization; and large-scale initiatives may tap into a host of preservation and conservation skills.
CCAHA is currently spearheading Connecting to Collections , a project that has led to a preservation plan for the state of Pennsylvania. CCAHA also recently worked with the University of Delaware, LYRASIS, and the HBCU Library Alliance to coordinate the HBCU Photograph Preservation Project.
